City House connects those on the margins of society, who might be homeless, in prison, or in recovery, with those in the mainstream of our society, for mutual listening, learning, and transformation. City House’s core program offers spiritual companions for people on the margins. City House also offers classes and leadership development for those in the mainstream to be mentored by those on the margins, to grow in these relationships.

In my role as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs I oversaw all of our student services including our Office of Career and Professional Development, Academic Achievement, and the law school Registrar’s Office. I also oversaw Student Government, Student Organizations at the law school, our Public Service Board and met with students individually to assist them on their journey to the legal profession.

The Mentor Externship provides students with a hands-on opportunity to develop key professional skills with a focus on professionalism and ethics. Each year of law study, students are paired with respected lawyers and judges in the Twin Cities community. Mentors introduce students to a wide range of lawyering tasks and judicial activities and share with them the traditions, ideals and skills necessary for a successful legal career.
