I am an innovation coach in Africa’s largest bank. I have worked across the entire innovation ecosystem, from running ideation campaigns to hackathons to innovation culture building, but my true passion is coaching teams to improve their products. I try to demystify what it means to deliver on a customer-driven product development approach. In large organisations, too often the people that develop the product are too far removed from the problem/customer, and those in the front line don’t have the skills or opportunity to design solutions. I help bridge this gap between know-how, customer insight, creativity and execution. Using a combination of Design Thinking and Lean Start-up methods, I help teams unravel complex problems, formulate potential solutions and run assumption-testing experiments. Finding the nexus between what is feasible (can we do it), viable (will it make money) and desirable (does anyone want it). My background as an entrepreneur, change consultant, brand strategist and now innovation coach qualifies me as a T-shaped person ideally suited to helping organisations deliver on their innovation goals.
