I’ve been privileged to invest my personal and professional experience and tremendous network of leaders, as an advocate for inclusion, independence, and a level playing field, for the blind and those with differing abilities.As a current member of Ohio's Statewide Independent Living Council, the Library for the Blind Advisory Committee for Braille and Audio resources, and the Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation Board, I continue to advocate for workforce development and equal employment opportunity, as well as accessible transportation and inclusive education. I’ve also served on state boards of the ACB and NFB, and as a City Council member, where I rolled out an Adopt-a-Family sharing program, introduced plans for a new Senior Resource Center, built a team that launched and authored a Town Center Re-development Plan, and perhaps most importantly, for 6 years I was Santa for a local school.With progressive vision loss since early adulthood, I most recently served as President and CEO of the startup manufacturer of the BrailleDoodle. In volunteering my experience, my network, and passion to help blind children and adults, in a short time I repaired and strengthened vital relationships, promoted the concept and device at three major conferences, and made extensive strides in building a distributor network in the U.S. and Canada.My early career included leading a sales and marketing team in a Fortune 250 company, until founding and leading as CEO, Grow Sales Marketing Group. The company provided b2b marketing services to manufacturers and distributors, across diverse industries throughout the U.S. After 12 years leading profitable operations, concurrently serving on City Council and on the boards of my local Rotary and Library, I sold the company to focus on my passion—to support innovation in resources, and to expand inclusion and independence, for those who are blind or losing their vision.Cultivating lasting partnerships with organizations and individuals, who share this mission, is a priority for me.
