After founding, growing, and selling my first two tech companies (a la mode, and Mercury Network), my kids and I focused on our holding company, B2 Equity, as the primary wrapper around our current and future endeavors. "B2" is essentially our hybrid Biggers family office, providing private equity and related services to in-house and third party software ventures, real estate projects (multifamily, light industrial and flex, land, and hotel/hospitality), traditional local home services firms, AEC businesses (architectural, engineering, and construction), and more. Our profile is straightforward: We don’t like debt. We don’t like hype, jargon, and egos. But we do like genuine hands-on entrepreneurs relentlessly driving the daily growth of solid, common-sense "actual revenue" companies, in both North America and Europe.

Pipeline ROI started out as a division of a la mode serving the sales side of the real estate industry -- agents, brokers, and mortgage professionals -- and was spun off as a standalone company in 2018 with the sale of a la mode. Offering IDX, marketing, and lead management solutions for agents, plus marketing and workflow solutions for mortgage brokers and community lenders, Pipeline ROI focuses on generating true high-quality leads and then funneling them into solid workflow solutions, with an inbound-centric worldview.

Bootstrapped a la mode as a garage-style startup while in college in the 80's. Actually, a garage is luxurious compared to the refrigerated warehouse we worked out of -- but at least I learned how to type with mittens with the fingertips cut out, while sitting in a sleeping bag. Back then people still responded with "What's software?" after they asked what you do, and "kids" like me were not CEOs. There weren't smartphones or even cell phones, and no Twitter or Facebook or LinkedIn. (Strangely, we were still able to get real work done.) I was a coder back then, but eventually moved to marketing and product management, where I focused on scaling the company up into the largest provider of appraisal technology in the nation (larger than all the others combined), with over half of all mortgages in the U.S. relying on the company at some point in the process of going from idea to closing. In April of 2018, I sold the company to CoreLogic, a multi-billion dollar market leader in the property-level insights business. Scaling and selling it was a great experience, but I still miss the refrigerated warehouse days -- even though I wouldn't really want to go there again. ;-)

Conceived, funded, built, and led the company from fresh startup as a division inside a la mode, to standalone spun-off company. Achieved the unusual performance combination of high growth rate plus high EBITDA plus high cash flow, then fully exited in a high-multiple sale to Serent Capital in April 2015. Completely self-funded and wholly owned; went from zero clients and zero employees to 600+ clients and 50+ employees in four years without taking on debt or diluting equity (100% of equity held by me personally or my family trusts).
