• As a full-time Volunteer Leader with the American Red Cross (via Boston Cares), I helped implement COVID-19 safety protocols at the American Red Cross Food Pantry at a time when demand for food surged from 500 families served daily to >2000 families served daily. Mentored 5 individuals in becoming future Volunteer Leaders.• Lead teams of 6-20 volunteers on a variety of projects including assembling and distributing food bags at the East End House in Cambridge, park restoration and cleanup with the Esplanade Association, and tutoring adults in mathematics for E-Cel Education.• Over 2200 verified hours of service completed.

• Mentored, guided, and challenged a team of 8 direct reports (6 QA Engineers, 2 Tech Support Engineers) to set and achieve ambitious career goals and professional growth. The team has experienced 3 internal promotions and 0% voluntary attrition over a 2 year span.• Established Circulation’s Tech Support Engineering discipline, which handles all bug reports and product enhancement suggestions, security incidents and requests, member grievance reports, access requests, and onboarding and offboarding of employees. All requests are tracked through ZenDesk for added accountability and to provide status transparency to the submitter.• Established and lead Circulation’s New York City office, which houses a multidisciplinary team of engineers, developers, and process improvement managers. Helped created a vibrant engineering culture.• We have a Python Cloud microservices architecture, and our search runs on top of Elasticsearch on the scale of millions of documents. We run almost everything on AWS, and now that most of their services are HIPAA-compliant, we've started to take more advantage of offerings like Lambda, EMR, and Comprehend.

• Improved the rating of the Pace Bike Share app from 3.2★ to 4.9★ in Apple’s App Store and from 2.6★ to 3.8★ in the Google Play Store. This was accomplished through creating rider persona and test plan documentation from scratch, developing automated test suites for the mobile application and multiple APIs, and leveraging cloud-based solutions for executing automated tests across a blend of real device farms, emulators, and simulators.• Transformed the “Inbound Queue” Slack Channel from a bug report/feature request/administrative chore catchall to a stakeholder specific, priority defined, automated, ticket creating workflow. This saved the weekly on-call engineer over 8 hours a week of administrative work so they could focus on true engineering and development tasks.

• Led an internationally distributed 4-person QA team in the launch of HBO GO for the Hong Kong, Singapore, and Philippines markets. HBO GO featured a multi-language UI and subtitles, playback continuity across multiple platforms (web, native apps, OTT, and smart TVs), parental controls, pre-roll rating bumpers, offline DRM, and in-app device management.

• Led every aspect of the VICELAND implementation of TV Everywhere for the US and Canadian markets from the signing of the SOW to launch. VICELAND obliterated industry expectations and debuted with an unprecedented 342 cable companies (>35X the industry standard benchmark) with a fully responsive web experience, apps (Android, iPhone, iPad), and OTT (Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast).• Owned several SEO improvements including deploying the hreflang attribute for dozens of international locales across four different VICE properties, and creating and submitting country specific HTML and XML sitemaps. • Managed an Austria-based development team in building and launching 8 new international locales for existing VICE properties, Virtue (VICE’s integrated advertising vertical), and City Guides (a Google-sponsored, travel vertical).

• Built, led, and mentored the ridiculously talented 5-person QA team that tested and maintained the services and tools that power one of the world’s fastest growing, media organizations.• Helped production deployments evolve from a bi-weekly, 3-hour, multi-department, completely manual, late night event to a daily, time agnostic, mostly automated, 5-minute non-event by leveraging CI/CD technologies (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker) and aggressive, post-deployment, monitoring tools (Pingdom, New Relic, PagerDuty, Nagios) with an emphasis on transparency, consistency, accountability, and reporting.• Architected a Selenium Webdriver test suite, written in Python and executed through Sauce Labs, that was able to validate the website’s UI and an Appium test suite for native Android and iOS apps and multiple APIs. • Led the QA effort on the multi-platform, ad server migration from OAS to Google’s Doubleclick for Publishers (DFP), which improved site advertising unit visibility by over 50%.

• ReLitNY was a small New York City-based, 501c3 non-profit. It believed that access to high quality literature has become a luxury rather than a necessity. It collected book donations and then hold monthly redistribution events in neighborhoods that have suffered a recent library closure or are underserved by their current library and to families for whom the cost of a book may be too prohibitive. The organization was completely run by volunteers.

Billionaire.com was a 2013 Webby Honoree for Best Lifestyle. • Led the testing effort on DuJour.com, a single view site that flawlessly hosted long form editorial, digital only content, and rich photo-centric advertising. DuJour won a 2013 Webby for Best Home/Welcome page.
