These tasks are accomplished with the assistance of a team of 12 Engineers and Engineering Technicians.

SEM Fire and Rescue is a specialist vehicle manufacturer for the production of fire and emergency service vehicles and other special purpose vehicles.The Production Manager's role is responsible for employee safety, vehicle quality, production scheduling, production budgets, implementation of lean manufacturing projects, labour coordination for 69 tradespeople, personnel development and industrial relations management.Major achievements;- Led a team in the implementation of a pulse production line for vehicle assembly, which subsequently reduced the individual vehicle build time by 10%, producing a labour saving of approximately $430K per year.- Drove improvements in quality metrics to reduce average number of defects per vehicle from 30 down to 1.- Led a team in the implementation of a just in time delivery system for vehicle components that reduced part shortages per vehicle from 28% to 3%.

Worked with a team of Engineers to bring key vehicle components into the vehicle assembly plant in sequence with the vehicles being produced at any point in time. This resulted in reductions in parts inventory within the Vehicle Assembly Plant from a minimum of 2.5 days stock to a maximum of 64 minutes of stock, and resulted in significant cost reductions in wrehouse storage.
