Senior Software Engineer
CurrentPython application development. Big data, machine learning, deployment and scaling in the cloud. Developed a full service computer vision-based video redaction system, front end and back, in django/react. This was done on my own, and largely without requirements or organizational support. This system is currently supporting multiple customers in production.Rewrote the system in 2022. It was originally written to manage its work via celery and its data via SQL. Ultimately the way we needed to use SQL became a bottleneck. With this rewrite I re-implemented the work management and data storage to use kafka topics and tables. Along the way the dependency on django was removed.Added responsibilities for Kubernetes and Azure cloud deployment. Added responsibilities for data analysis and wrangling in Databricks.From 2023 onward, I developed a Retrieval and Augmented Generation system with the AI group. It served as a desktop copilot, managing and presenting help desk data for call center agents. Architecture consisted of 4 python applications, a Vue.js administration frontend and a third party Chroma app that was constructed for point of use for the agents.
