Led a team of five policy analysts and project managers.- Led the planning and execution for the agency's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding (over $15 million). Funding sources included Head Start, Weatherization, and Community Services Block Grant and spanned six agency programs and 14 community partners. Designed new projects in partnership with community partners to meet the job creation and economic development objectives of the Recovery Act. Projects resulted in stimulating development in low-income zip codes and extensive positive press coverage. Received the 2010 WI Governor's Award for Community Action and recognition from the Under Secretary of Dept. of Health and Human Services for this work.- Oversaw the agency's public policy efforts including hosting bi-annual public hearings on important community issues, publishing quarterly policy papers, and educating local, state, and federal elected officials on policy reduction efforts in Milwaukee County. Issues included black male joblessness, pay-day lending, neighborhood development, early childhood education, and job creation. Spoke at countless public hearings and 1:1 meetings with public officials. - Supervised annual community needs assessments (2009-2012) including phone surveys, door-to-door surveys, stakeholder focus groups, and analyzing primary data as well as communicating results to target audiences (elected officials, partners, and defined segments of the community).- Led the creation of agency-wide and department specific Balanced Scorecards.- Oversaw five successful public and private grant applications to support SDC's Policy & Research Division's work ranging from $50,000 to $3.38 million.
