Following a career break I have joined NHS Professionals as a Fire Advisor, and on a part time basis I am currently assisting The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in updating their fire strategy drawings using AutoCad and consulting with their current Senior Fire Advisor as requested

Assess the Trust’s responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and maintain appropriate standards to ensure the Trust is not prosecuted for breaches of the Order.Manage ALL the Trust fire risk assessments.Identify training needs and develop courses and highly specialised courses as required to cover both basic and complex fire related topics.Provide highly specialist fire safety advice and support when proposals or plans for the provision of new facilities or the alteration of existing facilities are consideredCarry out full fire safety surveys of buildings and provide detailed reports on the standard of fire safety in each.Provide a lead for the Trust on compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance in respect of fire safety.Ensure appropriate maintenance regimes are put in place for all building systems associated with the management of fire risk. This includes fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire-fighting equipment, fire safety signs/notices. Prepare and update as required the Trust Fire Safety Policy document and procedures for dealing with all aspects of fire risk management.Carry out detailed investigations of outbreaks of fire at Trust premises and to produce detailed reports and recommendations as to cause and further actions required..Advise on technical fire matters (including fire evacuation procedures, maintenance and testing of fire alarm, emergency lighting etc. systems, firefighting equipment testing and signage) and to monitor the fire precaution measures and other statutory compliance's within the Trust.Since 2012 until September 2019 I was also the Trust lead for all day to day security matters and the production of security policies and procedures as well as managing the contract for security staff. In addition has responsibility for all day to day car parking issues and the production of car parking policies and procedures as well as managing the contract for car park attendants
