Chosen to provide financial leadership for two start-up divisions launched by Mercedes-Benz Credit: debis Financial Services (a provider of auto financing for non-MB vehicles) and Giggo.com (a provider of direct auto loans via the internet). Managed all aspects of financial planning and reporting, budgeting, product pricing, operational compliance, credit risk, and business information systems.• Selected as the financial lead for the DaimlerChrysler Financial merger integration team in which we consolidated collections and customer service functions from 30 regional offices throughout the U.S. into 5 centralized locations.• Helped grow loan portfolio from zero to $2 billion in two year period, while profitability steadily increased from $5 million loss in 1998, to $3 million profit in 1999, to $9 million profit in 2000.• Launched Internet based, direct lending division, Giggo.com by creating financial products, pricing strategies, operational procedures, and a management reporting foundation.• Created forecasting model and investor road show presentations for Giggo.com that led to eventual sale to Capital One’s auto finance group.
