I am currently investigating the actions of neurotransmitters during adolescent development, in order to identify better treatment options for adolescents with mental illness and drug addiction. As a senior-level research assistant with six years of experience in neuroscience and psychology laboratories, I coordinate large studies that use MRI and MR spectroscopy to examine neurotransmitters in the adolescent brain. I have co-authored numerous research articles in high-impact journals. In addition to conducting brain imaging experiments, I conduct structured diagnostic assessments and administer cognitive tests. Using SPSS and the scripting language Python, I perform statistical analysis of behavioral, psychological, and neuroimaging data. Administratively, I coordinate subject participation, community-based recruiting, and data management. I have extensive experience with IRB documentation, procedures, and approvals, and I am trained in all facets of human subjects research compliance.Limitations: I'm not very good at measuring liquids, and I won't kill lab animals.
