As a Technical Lead and Delegate Architect for Capital Groups Retirement Plan Services (RPS), my primary responsibilities involve designing and implementing highly available cloud platforms and microservices for both external and internal applications. My specific duties include:• Designing and implementing cloud, platform, and microservices for a highly available external application that enables Advisors, Sponsors, and Third-Party Administrators to manage their retirement plans digitally.• Overseeing and contributing to the design and implementation of cloud, platform, and microservices for a back-office application that provides a unified access point for Associates to support retirement plans.• Helping lead the migration from a legacy monolithic application to a highly distributed, target-state application and architecture.• Developing enterprise microservices that align with the company's goal of transitioning to a service-oriented enterprise architecture within our servicing sector.• Designing AWS systems within the cloud, adhering to the principle of maintaining an Active-Active state (with eight nines availability) due to the critical nature of business and client impact.• Presenting to Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and internal architecture groups comprising director-level representatives and above.• Creating documentation and write-ups through Decision Logs and Architecture Diagrams to support key decisions for audit and reference purposes.• Mentoring onshore and offshore developers to enhance their cloud and Python expertise.
