Soon after I turned a teenager, I became fully aware of the existential threart of climate change. The simple realization that human kind's impact on ecosystem Earth is unprecedented was enough to intuitively know that our planet is on a crossroads moment and so are we. We are technoforming the planet's mountains into cities, forests into pastures and animals into factories. At some point in time this might have seemed a good idea, only in the long run it is not. Not sustainable. Not ethical. Not fair.As a spokesman for Partij voor de Dieren Amsterdam it is my mission to inspire decision makers to move away from century old reflexes of choosing profit over people, growth over wellbeing and self over others. To clear the path for the societal system change we need, we depend on national, European and global governments alike. Simultaneously, at a local level we can both resist common practises and set an example for alternative models in every possible policy area.Next to my political work I work as a freelance hospitality manager.
