Managed Roadtrippers Engineering Dept, including Web/Backend development (RoR), Mobile (iOS and Android), and DevOps (EngineYard/AWS). Managed planning and delivery of all product engineering and development using Agile techniques and tools. Researched and guided new technology decisions and implementations. Responsible for uptime (securing and scaling) of infrastructure for viral content traffic spikes. Handled all people management duties (work tasks, mentoring, reviews).

Directed and architected Luxottica Retail's Customer Data Warehouse. Used IBM's Netezza platform combined with a lightweight CRM system (SugarCRM/MySQL). Also deployed integration layer using Talend Data Management. Hands on installation and administration of all these systems on Linux.

Technical responsibility for five e-commerce web sites - Lenscrafters.com, Sunglasshut.com, PearleVision.com, SearsOptical.com, and TargetOptical.com. Work with IBM WebSphere Commerce Platform, and all the usual eComm suspects - Omniture, Akamai, RackSpace, etc.

When it was in Cincinnati, I managed the highly talented engineering staff at ShareThis, meeting aggressive product deadlines using Agile methodologies. I was one of the key decision makers for technology selection in the infrastructure and engineering areas, and was responsible for rapid implementation and adoption. Some of these tools are Akamai, RightScale, Github, Hudson (now Jenkins), PivotalTracker, and Selenium.Drawing from my experience in testing, I created an automated test framework for our widgets and web site using Selenium Grid (hosted in AWS) and using the Hudson CI tool, established Continuous Integration into our Agile development process.

Managed team of 18 consisting of senior web architects, project managers, developers, and web site administrators with a department budget of $1.9MM. Responsible for the operations of 12 e-commerce web sites for seven brand companies which generated over $400 million (over 50% of company demand). Worked with 7 brand marketing groups to constantly enhance site functionality. Projects included Search Engine Optimization (SEO) improvements which increased Google site ranking, Enhanced Site Search (Mercado), and enhanced site metrics reporting (Omniture), and most significantly, implemented a complete e-commerce platform migration from BroadVision to MarketLive/Oracle across all brands increasing site traffic scalability by 5X.
