Led the design, implementation, and management of SEO strategy for the Mass General Brigham hospital system, comprising the two largest teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School plus additional specialty and community hospitals. In addition to serving as the go-to SEO expert and thought leader system-wide, I directed in-house organic search and digital content development functions as well as external SEO agency collaborations. My focus was on aligning SEO, content, and marketing roadmaps with the goal of increasing organic search traffic to Mass General Brigham web sites through Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. I also set, monitored, and reported on organic search baseline metrics. • Established all in-house SEO processes, services, and procedures. Continually researched, recommended, and incorporated new strategies, technologies, and opportunities in organic search.• Proactively architected and articulated to chief marketing officer proposal to establish organic search as a key marketing channel in which to invest to complement other marketing channels, including paid search, TV, radio, and social. Advocated for and secured buy-in for bringing on an SEO agency to assist in efforts.• Researched, vetted, selected, and oversaw best-in-class SEO agency in the following: conducting technical audits of system's web sites (more than 900,000 pages); conducting content audits of priority service lines; and in effectively communicating improvement recommendations to Content and Site Strategy teams.• Effectively translated agency findings and recommendations to Content and Site Strategy teams to drive high-impact improvements and to increase search rankings through focus on consumer and professional-facing healthcare content, service-line content, and other areas.
