My second career as a professional civil engineer re-building public infrastructure before, during, and after disasters. Using project management, contract negotiation, financial, and cross functional team skills to help civic officials find extraordinary situations towards a resilient solution, exploring technical, contractual, financial, and project management options. Typically, my 'customer' is many people with multiple agendas inside an organization. Project management and outstanding customer service is my mantra; long term relationships are my bread and butter. From civil engineering to aerospace systems, it has to work right every time.Many of the projects I've worked have a design cycle of 2-7 years, but modifications or upgrades may be 3-24 months. My specialty is managing cross functional teams and delighting the customer. Herding cats with multiple interfaces with the customer's teams to define, refine, and design a project that satisfies their expectations and stays on-time. Roles can be many: technical collaboration, product manager, grants manager, project manager, and consensus building. I apply this skill-set for large programs, or infrastructure projects where a cross functional team is necessary to accomplish a major effort creating a resilient product that is built to last.
