With reorganisation of IT team, Dave took on a global leadership role reporting to the Global eBuisness Delivery Director. His team of Product owners, eBusiness application experts, project managers and Scrum Masters are based in Europe and US. Dave has taken on responsibility for providing e-commerce services within the Tech Data environment for key suppliers outside of Software division, such as Sony, Sharp and Google. Dave is also a key member of the leadership team in driving the definition of a new eBusiness global platform solution based and integration of all Software services into the European Quoting engine to further digitise the Business processes based on the strategic design defined by Dave and his team.

Reporting to the e-business director for EMEA this is a leadership role to deliver strategic Platforms for the Distribution channel (supporting the sales of $1,5bn of Software). As the Enterprise Software Licensing business moves to Subscription and Electronic delivery, Dave has been one of the key drivers in defining the new paradigm of solutions required by Tech Data and is accountable for its delivery. This new world involved in 2014 the creation of a new order transformation engine, improving the quality of XML input from customer to automate the order process for Tier 1 customers and remove errors in the process (one customer was having 60 % of orders fail and now see's less than 5% failure as they have moved to the Tech Data solution). This solution was rolled out to all European countries in 2015.. Dave also lead the transformation of the Digital Download platform for provisioning and activation of Software keys from a European to Global solution and created a "Software as a Service" solution for key customers.Since 2016, Dave has lead a multi-year strategic design and delivery program of a new SOA web service based solution to remove obsolete separate tools and integrate the customer journey into the Tech Data web site, utilising a Business Rules engine from InRule (for which Dave lead the selection process) and provide two way communication with all critical Business processes in SAP.in 2017, the new Software solution architecture was rolled out across 17 countries, adding features to support the digital transformation of the Business. This involved integration of API's with vendors to minimise internal operational effort.Dave is part of the leadership team using his extensive retail experience to provide full B2B2C services for their customers and is leading the engagement with key vendors such as Apple and Microsoft (who have recognised the success of the platforms with annual awards).

Reporting to the Ecommerce director, and working closely with the IT architecture team, Dave's focus was to direct the design of the overall strategic IT solutions for the Groups Ecommerce sites. He provided the business teams with guidance on how to use the technology to deliver appropriate business processes and helped them shape the scope of projects to deliver the change requested in the most appropriate fashion. This included leading the engagement with the executive team, providing a respected centre of excellence re the "art of the possible" and by being accountable for the interface to the key suppliers ( such as ATG, Endeca, Adobe and Apple). This accountability includes innovating solutions into the business from the key technology suppliers and engaging closely with them and key stakeholders to drive future capability within the packages. The role also provided a major influence on the shaping of processes and solutions across the business that ensured the ecommerce channel worked effectively. This included content management and promotional management. Dave used his extensive knowledge in Content Management to help solution architecture a combined web and book content production system which further aided the business.Dave worked hand in hand with all the teams (internal and external) in overseeing the implementation of the ATG platform, driving forward initiatives for change in the solution when needed, managing key architectural support from ATG and working with the development and IT architecture team to design an architecture that could scale for future demands.Critcially, he was the key point of contact for the business to drive further use of ATG, Endeca, Akamai and Adobe technology in providing greater business capability. His excellent engagement skills allowed him to mentor both business and development teams in understanding the art of the possible and to influence the best strategic approach in delivering what was required.

With the company growing sales and focusing on the move from book to web as the major channel of delivery for our customers, David focused on the development of the strategic business architecture and IT systems required to support the drive to being an etailer.Working within Group Change, he focused on working with the Board in delivering the online strategy by working across a number of business areas to integrate a number of ecommerce solutions while managing key technology supplier relationships.

Reorganisation of company moved his role into the Group Change department. Dave was now acting as the point of contact for business executives into the Group Change and IT departments. Working alongside the Board directors and their teams, Dave drove the business through the establishment of the project portfolio required to meet the strategic business plans.Being able to challenge ideas, facilitate the creation of benefit maps, work with IT to cost projects for Investment board approval and then oversee delivery of the projects ensured that Dave played a critical role in the future success of the company.Across his wide scope of influence, he was also responsible for innovating IT solutions, in line with IT architectural strategy, back to the business and managing the third party suppliers to build effective strategic partnerships.

Heading up the business engagement team for the Publishing/Ecommerce and HR systems within Littlewoods. Reporting to the Head of Business Engagement , the role included membership of a number of executive mgmt boards.Accountable for the delivery, support and service of all IT solutions for each of the above business areas (circa IT director for each business unit).Extensive experience for the systems development and integration of all functionality for the company retail websites and content management systems.
