I am an Idaho licensed electrician. I started my electrical career in 1990. The bulk of my experience is in commercial, industrial, new construction, maintenance, and technology areas of the electrical trade. I install and maintain power distribution, lighting, and emergency backup power systems. I have decades of experience in conduit and conductor installation for branch circuits, feeders, and controls. Working indoors or outside this journey has not been linear, as I have kept an open mind, evolving with industry changes, codes, and styles. Building my career as a journeyman I applied myself and became proficient at electrical equipment installation, and troubleshooting. I progressed to job foreman, project management, and project estimating. I was discouraged to see the growing gap between the electrical contractor, and low voltage subcontractor relationship causing lost time, broken budgets, and blown deadlines.I dedicated myself to learning fire alarm life safety codes and achieved NICET II fire alarm certification, I study ASIS risk assessment, asset protection, and physical security. I sought training and became proficient in fire alarm, video management, access control, and intrusion systems. My experience now includes low voltage security, integration, mass notification, fire alarm layout, installation, programming, inspection, estimating, and sales. My background in both voltage genres does allow me to see solutions that span high and low voltage contractor limitations.
