I guided the organisation in a cybersecurity maturity project to map and identify all of the ICT needs, assets and riscs. In my role as Lead Technical Account Manager, I oversaw a team of technical account managers who were responsible for guiding government clients through the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale ICT projects via Digitaal Vlaanderen’s outsourcing framework contracts. Throughout my experience, I encountered a wide array of ICT challenges faced by government agencies, with security and performance being critical priorities. As one of the initial technical account managers, I played a key role in shaping the role and ensuring that security was embedded at every level of the process.As the manager of this team, I was part of the leadership group that co-managed the department, contributing not only to the framework contracts but also to the development of the security infrastructure for the Flemish government, including the internal ICT security systems of Digital Flanders. My focus remained on safeguarding government systems while ensuring optimal performance across all digital platforms.

In 2017, I joined the Facility Management Company as a program manager to lead the rollout of O365 across the Flemish Government. In this role, I implemented a methodical approach, initiating seven distinct project lines, each overseen by highly skilled IT professionals. This multidisciplinary team, which I personally recruited, included external contractors, internal staff, and employees from the house supplier (HB+), all engaged through the IT framework contract of the Flemish Government.A key focus of this program was the security management of the digital workplace, which was the most critical and sensitive project line. Ensuring robust security protocols and compliance with governmental security standards was paramount in safeguarding the digital infrastructure as we implemented O365 across the organization. This required close collaboration with internal and external teams to maintain a secure environment throughout the rollout process.

As project manager for the Youth Welfare agency, I was responsible for overseeing the development of a critical application supporting the renewal of youth care over a five-year period. In this role, I managed overall operations, gathered requirements, and ensured alignment with both the management and key stakeholders.Given that the application stores highly sensitive personal data of youth with special needs across Flanders, security was the top priority from the very beginning, even before the introduction of GDPR legislation. The project was developed in a challenging political environment, where strict deadlines, financial limitations, and diverse user acceptance posed significant obstacles. Despite these challenges, we delivered the first iteration on time, with a strong emphasis on securing the sensitive data involved. Subsequent iterations incorporated stakeholder feedback while maintaining rigorous security protocols. The project's success, both in terms of functionality and data protection, earned the application a nomination for an e-gov award.
