Over the past 9 and half years I have been working within one of the harshest environment on the planet (the developing world of the DRC). Challenged with initially staff with poor technical education and the usual poor infrastructure in a developing country I have seen the staff grow and evolve greatly.After an initial plan to upskill the workforce to recognizable levels, there were and still are some struggles, I feel the team has come a long way and has the potential to make it to the top of the group "compliances". Currently as we move from poor and underfunded infrastructure to a recognized world class set-up I am encouraged to see key staff take to the challenges, learning new skills, leading new technology and taking ownership. It has been a long battle with mindset and cultural views both within the country and without and finally we have a clear direction and focus and great potential to grow.

Based in London and Washington DC undertook a number of internal global assignments for the refinement of infrastructure services globally.

As manager for Internet & firewall services within the UK arm of this global provider (formally Racal Telecom) I set-up automated build and internal development processes.

Originally started; pre-91, as a contractor developing their database services and after going full time undertook assignments to deploy 4GL development technology and associated methodologies; deployment of T&A swipe card system; Beta-testing of Microsoft Terminal Services; development of 'operation-in-a-box' for rapid deployment;
