David Hite is a leader in the corporate training arena with over 30 years of experience. He has a passion for facilitating and coaching groups that are looking for new strategies to improve team and organizational performance. As a teacher, consultant and business owner, he has helped organizations, such as Bristol Metals, New Peoples Bank, Volkswagen Group of America, Southwest Va Workforce Investment Board, UVA-Wise, Eastman Chemical Co., Tennessee Valley Authority, and Univ of TN, and several others enhance employee development in various business skill areas. He has helped design, develop, implement and evaluate employee training programs for diverse types of employees as well as mentored small businesses when transitioning to online operations.At the collegiate level, he taught courses such as: Leadership & HR Management, International HR, eCommerce, Entrepreneurism, Consumer Behavior, and online courses in Marketing, Mgt. Information Systems. He has focused on developing a learning ecosystem that connects students with businesses to support community growth in rural Appalachian communities. He received the Business Journal's 40-Under-40 Leadership Award and was keynote for their 2008 awards. He has studied business in over 40+ countries, including Greece, China, Cuba and countries in Western Europe and is able to incorporate diverse viewpoints into most of the projects he works on. In 2018, he spoke to over 2000 students on entrepreneurship at seven universities all over Brazil.David has an A.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. degree in Workforce Training, and a M.S. degree from the University of Tennessee in HR where he studied organizational development and instructional eLearning technologies. His graduate work in HR focused on virtual learning organizations that use web technologies to improve organizational effectiveness. He is working on a doctorate at George Washington University where he is focusing on rural Appalachian entrepreneur leadership. He has supported various economic development groups throughout Southwest Virginia and upper East Tennessee through various workshops, business pitch events, and speaking activities. He received a full graduate scholarship to help implement the first full online B.S. program in HR in the country. He led a project team at Eastman Chemical Company to create an international learning portal to help improve and centralize training and development initiatives for over 10,000 employees.
