Senior Enforcement Counsel
Supervised Assistant Attorneys General in Bureau of Consumer Frauds & Protection with respect to investigations and enforcement actions relating to telecommunications, utilities, student lending, pharmaceutical, consumer finance, home mortgage, and other industries. Represented the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) in various matters relating to financial guaranty insurers. Served as lead trial counsel for DFS in its successful defense of Article 78 proceedings and related actions brought by structured finance policyholders of MBIA seeking to overturn approval of its restructuring (see Brendan Pierson, MBIA Restructuring Decision Defended as Easily "Rational," N.Y.L.J., May 22, 2012, at 1). Recipient of Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award.
