I am an experienced leader, having worked in education for 20 years – 15 of these in further education management. I’m energetic, determined and passionate about improving the lives of young people through formal and informal education.Professionally I am currently Assistant Principal Student Experience at Stoke on Trent College.Notable achievements:- As Careers Leader led the College in its achievement and reaccreditation of the Quality in Careers Standard for Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) and in maintaining its Matrix quality standard for Information Advice and Guidance.- Proud to have led the College’s Learner Involvement and Enrichment team in gaining the Student Services Team of the Year Award 2020 for our Enrichment programme; shortlisted for Inspirational Project of the Year in 2022 for our Peer Mentor scheme; And winner of the Inspirational Project of the Year in 2024 for our Widening Participation Summer Programme.- Awarded Staffordshire Higher Horizons Hub Teacher or Advisor of the year award 2021 for our commitment to raising aspirations of our learners working with the project and helping to source impactful and engaging sessions for students at the College.- Ofsted inspection link Manager for Safeguarding and Personal Development, the College achieved Good, we are now on our journey to great.- Turned around an under-performing Distance Learning Unit from Grade 4 to Grade 1 provision.- Successful strategic development of blended learning across College curriculum, including the introduction of Silver & Gold standards (quality indicators).- Led Student international projects to Poland and South Africa and introduced an international project to China.
