Assisting centre manager with the day to day operation of a 100 bed residential outdoor education centre

Responsible for the safety and quality of the activities delivered across a 27 siteoperation in the UK and Europe with an annual turnover of approximately£35,000,000, over 250,000 guests and 1500 instructional staff, reporting directlyto the Operations Director.• Duties included developing and implementing new operating procedures, seniorstaff training, liaising with NGB's, incident management and consultation regardingoperational issues with other parts of the business.

Tasked with implementing new policies such as “Fit for work” policy and acomplete back to basics review and redesign of PGL's Activity Standard OperatingProcedures, introductory Instructor award and Minimum Training Standards.• Chaired various company wide activity related forums and meetings helping toreduce the accident rate across the company to 0.012% of all customers (2006)and achieved record customer satisfaction marks for key activities such as quadbiking, climbing, trapeze, initiative exercises, orienteering and kayaking.; Responsible for the safety and quality of the activity delivery across 10 sites inthe UK.Working closely with Operations Director,Area Managers and CentreManagers to develop effective systems and solutions for operational issuesoccurring at a centre level.

Working as part of a busy training department delivering activity specific trainingcompany wide, including MAIA courses (14 day initial staff training), NGB basedtraining events (BCU, Ropes workshops) and Senior activity staff training.
