In August 2008 BPP introduced an ITIL based centralised IT service desk structure. As a member of a team of 4, I have played an important role in the implementation and development of the service desk, ensuring it is now seen as a very important resource for development of BPP as a whole. The service desk is responsible for both 1st and 2nd line support of nearly 10,000 users and 2000 workstations. Additional to my role on the service desk, I also provide on-site support for the Manchester campus.Technologies I support on a regular basis include Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 2003/2007, Active Directory, BPP's Virtual learning Environment, Outlook Web Access, Citrix.I have also been actively involved in the restructuring of the BPP's Active Directory database, both by directly maintaining the database and also producing tools (Using C# and LDAP queries) and scripts to facilitate the management of Active Directory on a large scale.Whilst working for BPP I have designed and built the Change Management System that is now used by the college, which included designing and building the underlying database, as well as the software used to both raise and respond to requests. This was a combination of ASP.net, C# and SQL.
