I founded Lokket by selling Sputnik (another company I founded, see below) to one of our most innovative customers, an Australian wireless internet service provider. Together, we saw an urgent opportunity and forged a new mission: bring affordable broadband to communities that weren’t being adequately served by incumbent Internet providers. Today, Lokket is closing the digital divide by providing Internet access to students, schools, families and small businesses in disadvantaged communities across the U.S.- Led cross-functional team to pivot the company from WiFi management to next-generation WISP while doubling revenues.- Helped build a leading provider of affordable WiFi for underserved communities and education markets.- Currently serve on the Board of Directors.

Leading across sales, marketing, international business development, product development, and operations, I was instrumental in helping the company evolve from a small business to a successful sale to Knowfully, a fast-growing private equity-backed online learning company.- Integrated departmental silos to drive strategic business decision-making and improve operational performance that resulted in the successful sale of the company.- Revamped the sales process and refreshed pipeline, resulting in 20% year-on-year growth.- Conducted primary market research with customers resulting in a new product line that increased customer acquisition and retention.

I founded Sputnik to bring WiFi hotspot management to the masses. When open-source software started taking off in business, my co-founders and I realized there was no trusted source for enterprise-class support, services, education, custom development and product validation. So we started Linuxcare, raised funding from Kliener-Perkins and built a team of the leading minds in Linux and open-source software. - Co-founded and oversaw the growth of Linuxcare, an innovator in open-source software business models.- Managed corporate and product marketing, market research and PR.- Led brand development for one of the top three most recognized brands in Linux and open source.- Prepared the company to IPO (unfortunately, plans were canceled due to the economic downturn of 2000-2002).
