Dave Leonard and Ellen Good are the directors and owners of Bach to Rock Wayne, established in June of 2013. Music has been an important part of their lives since they were young. Ellen started playing piano and string bass in elementary school while Dave took up trumpet. Both have since moved on to other instruments – Ellen is learning the harp while Dave has been working on guitar for many years.Ellen and Dave are examples of how enjoyable and important music can be as a lifelong interest. Neither considered a career in music, but making music has been a fun, continuing journey for them. Dave is also a certified English teacher and has a Master’s degree from Brown University in education. Ellen has a Master’s degree in social work from St. Louis University and majored in family and child development as an undergraduate. Watching their grandchildren start piano and guitar lessons inspired their interest in Bach to Rock. Working with talented B2R teachers who share the joy of music with young people is a dream come true.
