Specific functions of my position include but are not limited to the following:-Improve the quality, uniformity, and reliability of the total maintenance effort. -Improve the work environment, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance effort. -Eliminate unnecessary man-hour and dollar expenditures. -Improve training, work habits, and procedures of maintenance personnel. -Increase the excellence and value of reports and correspondence originated by maintenance personnel. -Perform inspections of all maintenance equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations. Check for the existence of satisfactory environmental conditions within the work spaces and that equipment is maintained in a safe operating condition. Check that equipment operator qualifications and proper training for licensing are maintained.-Collect data from maintenance reporting systems to identify trend recurring failure areas or other maintenance problems and take action to improve performance.-Ensure established standard procedures are observed for conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections, ground tests, and bench checks of components, including engines.
