Led the Enterprise Systems Engineering Team responsible for applications running on the IBM Z13 mainframe. Enhanced both the application and system performance of the primary applications that process account information for tens of millions of JPMorgan Chase’s customers. I led initiatives such as an “effective” application monitoring strategy and data analytics prior to my retirement in Oct 2016.I have worked with the business to architect, develop and maintain major applications for the Retail sector. One of these applications is the performance review application that supports over 50,000 employees. This online application integrates financial data into review forms in order to truly analyze the performance of an employee at any level. Other applications include integrating systems such as Taleo with internal systems to provide an assessment platform for incoming candidates to the branch network. I helped develop the concepts around secondary forms of authentication. I spearheaded the bank’s introduction into these new technologies and developed prototypes that are being leveraged today to expand our use of leading edge banking solutions.One of my first positions at the bank was to head up the performance testing team for the Corporate Internet Group. I also architected, developed and maintained the first mainframe simulator in order to reduce the dependency on elongated testing cycles.

The first three years of my enlistment I served as a Jet Engine Mechanic on the A7 Corsair. I spent time in flight line operations, phase maintenance and hush house testing. The last ten years of my time in the military I was blessed with the opportunity of being an Air Refueling Technician on the KC-135R. Also known as a Boom Operator, I refueled military aircraft in-flight all over the world.

As part of my first job out of college, I was responsible for migrating code between the mainframe environments. That led to developing code to support the credit card processing systems at the bank. During this time I worked with COBOL, JCL, REXX, and CLIST. Prior to my departure from the bank, I was given the opportunity to work on one of the first client server applications that interacted with the mainframe systems. This position gave me exposure to all areas of the client server environment.
