David is leading the growth of the Enterprise Information Management Consulting Practice of Pacific Data Integrators, a fast-growing boutique system integrator and Informatica Software Re-seller partner. In this role, he is:▶ Driving the content for inbound marketing with the intention of providing in-depth, pragmatic knowledge gained from over 25 years of data management implementation experience.▶ Providing on-site consulting expertise with enterprise teams on their digital transformations like next-generation analytics, moving to the cloud, data governance, master data management and single view initiatives.▶ Assisting with sales to grow the software re-sell success as well as the parallel consulting services assistance to help clients be successful.▶ Helping the executive team with the strategic growth and mentoring of Pacific Data Integrators as it matures into its second decade of expansion.

Responsible for growing a new product line within Informatica that creates and manages Digital Transformation Plans and roadmaps to guide clients through their major business and IT systems changes. ▶ Manage the product adopted by leading Fortune 500 companies to guide their planning, scoping and impact analysis of complex system and business changes.▶ Lead the organization responsible for the business, product and practice development as well as consulting services required for this new Informatica business.▶ Doubled the number of vertical industry reference models to include pharmaceuticals, banking, insurance, utilities, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare.▶ Tripled the business within the first year.

Responsible for corporate evangelism, vision and roadmap for the Product Development organization for the leading Data Integration company. Similar to being a Strategic Product Manager targeting plans more than 18 months into the future.▶ Co-author Integration Competency Center: An Implementation Methodology. Continues to be in steady demand on Amazon and iBook and used in training programs. Concepts guided the definition of Informatica’s version 8 release, taking Informatica from departmental tools to enterprise platform. ▶ Co-author Lean Integration: An Integration Factory Approach to Business Agility. CIO Magazine’s “pick of the month” and bestseller on Amazon and Kindle lists. Demonstrates how Data Integration and Data Management approaches can be maximized using Lean and Agile thinking. Concepts guided the definition of Informatica’s version 9 and 10 releases, outlining how Cloud, Data Governance, SOA, MDM, and other systems can be built Better, Faster, AND Cheaper, without having to compromise on any of these three objectives. ▶ Thought leader invited to meet with client executives and architects globally to promote People and Process Best Practices among Business/IT allowing Sales to sell higher and close Enterprise License Agreements. Approximately one-third of license revenue incorporates some aspect of an ICC component in the sale.▶ Speaker at industry events, panel expert and moderator, blogger, whitepaper writer establishing industry thought leadership on Big Data, Cloud, Data Governance, Metadata Management and Agile Software Development for non-java complex information applications.▶ Consultant invited by the leading data warehouse industry expert, Ralph Kimball, to contribute to his Data Warehouse ETL Toolkit book, webinars, and field workshops.

Responsible for managing the organization that defined, designed, implemented, tested, documented and supported the Informatica Applications, a ground-breaking suite of packaged analytic applications.▶ Defined next-gen architecture for a full-suite of packaged data warehouses, covering CRM, Financial Operations, Supply Chain Management, HR, and Web Analytics.▶ Managed an R&D organization of almost 100 people, incorporating business Subject Matter Experts from PwC, as well as distributed on-shore and off-shore teams. Developed a data warehouse building factory: • Hired business domain experts as Product Managers to document requirements from customers; • Hired ex-SI ERP consultants who were expert at translating these requirements into customizable data warehouse models and ETL design specifications and BI configurations; • Built tools that automatically generated data models and ETL mappings from design specifications; • Hired a QA organization that tested the analytic applications; • Defined how Informatica took these analytic applications to market.▶ Intellectual property of these applications successfully sold to Siebel, Hyperion and others. Data models, architecture and content still used by for Oracle as OBIEE/OBIA for more than a decade after their design.

Co-founded Influence Software and was responsible for the product development and professional services teams, their plans, budgets, and success, as well as sales, marketing, hiring, and other key roles along the path from start-up to sale. ▶ Managed the architectural design and construction of the first packaged analytic applications in the industry.▶ Positioned Influence Software to be acquired by Informatica Corporation for approximately $85 million.▶ Managed the consulting team that designed the analytics, models, ETL mappings from SAP R/3 and Oracle Applications, and PeopleSoft into a web-based BI tool; one of the first in the industry▶ Grew a large and profitable Data Warehousing consulting organization from 3 to over 35 people.▶ Made the product and consulting portions of the company profitable within 3 years helping sell product and consulting services to blue-chip customers.

▶ Built a new Data Warehouse consulting practice from scratch.▶ Hired and trained over a dozen new data warehouse consultants.▶ Established a data warehouse project methodology for the organization to follow.▶ Gained experience building data warehouses from ERP and CRM systems like SAP R/3 and Oracle Apps.▶ Instituted training for the team and clients in both proper methodology and best-of-breed tools.

▶ Achieved industry-leading performance for a massively parallel, shared-nothing SVR4 Unix system running Oracle and Informix in decision support environments.▶ Achieved industry-leading TPC-H benchmark by testing/tuning a shared-nothing MPP system running parallel database queries. Modified database and O/S internals code, storage system configurations and SQL queries to maximize performance.▶ Expert with decision support complex query tuning, query plan analysis and optimization approaches.▶ Coded C++ performance analysis tools to visualize CPU, network, memory and disk performance in massively parallel, multi-node clusters.▶ Modeled data and deployed systems at customer sites. Gained practical, early experience with Data Warehouse technical and project-oriented issues and discovered common project success and failure patterns.

▶ Managed the primary UNIX kernel code necessary to turn single-processor operating system into multi-processor capable system on IBM mainframe systems.▶ Designed ‘giant-lock’ approach to allow coarse-grained multi-processor capability while higher-performance, fine-grained locking approaches were developed and tested.
