About David Mack
Over the past decade, I have developed some of California's most adventurous performing arts companies and artists in the fields of theatre, opera and dance.As Executive Director of Joe Goode Performance Group, I secured one of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation's largest organizational effectiveness grants ever awarded to an arts nonprofit in the San Francisco Bay Area.During my tenure as General Manager of The Industry, I served as Producer of INVISIBLE CITIES at Union Station. In partnership with METRO and Sennheiser, Bexel and others, INVISIBLE CITIES animated this iconic public space through opera and dance while maintaining the daily life and operations of the station. The production sold out with three extensions and was featured in three LA Times articles – including the front page of Arts and Books. The composition was awarded as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Music, the documentary, developed in partnership with KCET, received an LA area EMMY award for Entertainment Programming, the design was honored at the Prague Quadrennial and the creators received four LA Ovation Award nominations.I have shepherded ambitious, collaborative artistic experiences while cultivating strategic relationships with both arts and non-arts organizations. Featured partnerships include: Culver City Forward, the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, LA Opera, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Grand Performances, Hammer Museum, Mayme Clayton Museum, Wende Museum, LACE, SCI-Arc, TreePeople, Watts Towers Arts Center, Ford Theatres JAM Sessions, LA Poverty Department, LA Convention Center, LA Tourism & Convention Board, The Theatre at Ace Hotel, Watts/Century Latino Organization, Willowbrook Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital and Green Dot Public Schools.I bring a rigorous work ethic and abundance-mentality to my practice. Cultural equity is one of my core values. My goal is to support California's artistic game-changers in making the greatest impact on marginalized communities possible in this transformational era.
