The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority is the largest organization in the Government of the Northwest Territories with 1,600+ staff. We are responsible for the delivery of care and services to residents in the majority of NWT communities. We work in an integrated health and social services system with partners at the Tlicho Community Services Agency and the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority. As Manager of Communications at this new Authority I have broad responsibilities including:- Developing and implementing strategic communication direction including governance and long-range planning.- Managing and supporting the delivery of communication initiatives that are essential to the delivery of health and social services care and programs. Including initiative specific strategies and tactics.- Development and support of internal communications initiatives in an organization experiencing a high rate of change.- Establishment and permeation of brand throughout our organization.- Liaising with the GNWT and other entities to ensure coordinated and collaborative communications where appropriate.- Advising the Senior Executive team including CEO, COOs and Executive Directors on communication strategy and issues management.- Human resources management, training and development for communications within our organization.- Management of the delivery of Official Language services.If you want more information about me or our organization, please send me a direct message.

At the Department of Health and Social Service, responsible for two main projects:Management of communications activities related to the amalgamation of six health and social services authorities. Duties include:- Public education and promotion of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority- Supporting internal communications related to human resources and change management.- Creation of corporate website and brand, including procurement and contract management for these projects- Design and implementation of corporate communication policy for the new integrated health authority- See www.nthssa.ca for more infoManagement of communications for the Stanton Renewal Project, which is the largest P3 project ever undertaken by the Government of the Northwest Territories. Duties include:- Managing communications approval and governance in a matrix environment with multiple departments and team leads - Sitting on the projects Executive Committee and reporting to leadership on communications activities- Design, develop, and implement communication strategies to increase public awareness and transparency- Support internal communications to hospital facility staff to support project awareness and change management- Provide leadership in communications and coordinate efforts with P3 partner to ensure accurate and timely communications about operational impacts on the public and facility staff- See www.stantonrenewal.ca for more info
