With no prior experience, I founded Pacific Alternative Energy Resource, LLC (PAER) and built an international trading company. PAER was a commodity trading and supply chain solutions company with a strong focus on the trading of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) for biofuel production, particularly in the U.S. and Canada. Specializing in Used Cooking Oil (UCO), PAER built an extensive network of suppliers and customers, managing all aspects of sourcing, sales, and logistics. In addition to FOG, the company traded or sourced a variety of other products including food, animal feed, and upcycling byproducts. PAER successfully executed trades exceeding 150 million lbs., valued at over $80 million, while optimizing logistics across ground, ocean, and rail transport.Although primarily focused on domestic markets, PAER also engaged in selective international trading. The company operated under stringent regulations such as LCFS, RFS, RED, FIT, CFIA, USDA, APHIS, and ISCC, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards for its commodities. PAER’s investment in renewable fuels research and its innovative supply chain management positioned it as a key player in advancing sustainable energy solutions within North America.

Operating as Senior Vice President Trading - WestInto my 15th year of trading, I continued to work with a variety of fats, oils & grease (FOG) products, primarily targeting biodiesel and renewable diesel producers. Products I work with include used cooking oil, soybean oil, distillers corn oil, animal fats, brown grease, crude and refined glycerin. My book also contained a variety of human grade food ingredients, as well as animal feed. Trades were conducted across North America, into European Union and China, plus sourcing palm products from South America. I work with a variety of ISCC products including a very rare negative carbon intensity palm product. Fats, oils and grease sales into the EU were ISCC compliant. I also developed non-ISCC buyers of FOG products in EU. Worked closely with logistics team to develop new international and domestic trade logistics solutions. New logistics solutions included shipping bulk liquids into China. Initially I managed the new trade route logistics to ensure successful establishment of the route. Negotiated prices and buy/sell contracts for all the above items.

MIS Lead, Systems Administrator & Operations Manager- Esurance has revolutionized the auto insurance industry by developing a hugely successful proprietary online insurance system were customers can “Quote Buy Print” auto insurance. I joined Esurance in startup mode with 40 employees, and by the time I left we had built the company into the fastest growing auto insurance company in the country with over 1,200 employees in 7 locations. I was key employee working directly with Senior Management to develop corporate IT systems, services & standards while substantially expanding operations/facilities for this complex high growth internet startup. I performed advanced server and multi site domain management, information assurance, supported 200+ users and trained new employees/IT staff. I negotiated large vendor service contracts, purchase and supply agreements for IT equipment, software licensing, FFE, and in my joint operations role I was key in expanding facilities from 1,000 sq. ft. to 25,000 sq. ft.
