I am passionate about building empowered teams and solving messy problems, to ultimately deliver high quality products. I thrive when digging deep to identify root issues, understanding the surrounding business, technical and user complexities, then identifying and executing the path forward. From helping 4th graders understand multi-digit addition and subtraction, to leading a group of executives to agree on a prioritization framework that can get each of their needs met, I am able to empathize with the customer to craft the right messaging and methods needed to drive to a solution. From optimizing existing software teams with overlapping responsibilities and strong opinions, to defining and staffing an entirely new discipline within an organization, I am great at identifying the shape of talent needed, and to recruit and retain excellent people to achieve the desired outcomes.Starting with a Commodore 64, I’ve always been excited to learn new technologies. I’ve shipped and supported boxed software to hundreds of millions of PCs (Windows ME, 2k, XP, 7), shipped the “Best New Mobile Device” of 2013 (HTC One M7), shipped a smart connected toy that was a complete market flop (ARM,BLE/802.15.4), scaled the best-in-class real estate marketing SaaS to a successful acquisition (Imprev, Java/AWS), and facilitated the “largest software rollout in real estate history” (MoxiWorks/Realogy).While all of my career to date has been in the software industry, I draw inspiration from the outside world. At home I enjoy timber-frame woodworking, electrifying all things that move, raising two amazing humans and reading anything I can get my hands on or listen to whatever podcast I can get my ears on (recommendations always appreciated).
