My early education and work were in fine art and illustration (book covers, comics, advertising, etc). From '93-'96 I transitioned into motion graphics, VFX, and then finally 3D animation for advertising, education, and medical projects. The following years included a wide range of work for a variety of subjects requiring the full gamut of production (concept art, character design, storyboards, modeling, rigging, animation, surfacing, lighting, and rendering).Since 2009, my focus has been teaching at Drexel University in their Animation & VFX program. I'm currently responsible for character creation, character rigging, and character animation as well as advising our Senior teams on their final projects, including pre-production. Although I've successfully advised grad students towards earning their master's degrees, I concentrate my time on the undergrad program where I restructured most of the foundation courses plus all the character animation and senior project courses. I've created new courses including Organic Modeling I & II, Senior Project Pre-production, as well as special topic courses covering digital sculpting, rigging, and advanced performance. All of my personal, professional, and academic research work is primarily focused on anatomical modeling and sculpting, as well as natural movement involving virtual humans, animals, and creatures (real and imagined). I am open to new consulting opportunities as an artist, educator, advisor, leader, or otherwise.
Listed skills include Animation, Modeling, 3D Modeling, Maya, and 6 others.
