You need someone that can talk the talk with engineers at their level but also describe what they're working on to non-technical stakeholders. By trade and experience I'm an engineer, but I'm an entrepreneur at heart and I've worked in every stage of the startup process, including acquisition, shutdown, and going public, with the related engineering and regulatory compliance that comes after. I can take the burden of understanding the best and newest technologies off your plate and identify and implement the path forward.I have spent the last several years managing and scaling engineering teams. I know how to screen and hire qualified engineers and have leveraged both full-time employees and contractors to help strike the right balance for the business. I focus on team morale and follow that up with skill growth and cross-company collaboration to produce leaders, and have promoted multiple engineers to leadership positions. And I do all this remotely, which means with me on your team you're not limited to a local talent pool. We can make the best decisions to help grow the engineering talent in your company. I'm more than just a manager though: I'm a doer; I'm a builder; I'm hands-on. I take a reasoned, logical approach to every problem I face and I continue to build products and write code, explore new technologies, and learn better practices around operations and systems resiliency.
