Head Of Recruitment - Asia Pacific
Newcastle, Australia
Head of RecruitmentLead a national team of 38 FTE for the delivery and implementation of my strategic sourcing and mobilisation plan. This plan incorporated a recruitment model that delivers high volume blue collar, executive management and white collar technical. The model is based on a cost recovery model that is built into both recoverable projects and overhead budgets. UGL Engineering operates 7 divisions including Power, Water, Rail Resources, Defence, Transport and Technology Systems and International. Each division brings its own challenges to sourcing and selection. Our key focus was reducing UGLs LTIFR, by prioritising rehiring or internal mobility for major projects and shutdowns, this ensured we had a balance of new hires and also people who were already familiar with our safety ethos. Recruitment and Talent Centre ManagerAs the Recruitment and Talent Centre Manager, I managed two teams. I established a centralised function for intuitive and strategic sourcing based in a low cost centre of Newcastle. This solved a number of key concerns for the business. How UGL scale for major projects, how they control project demobilisation and remobilisation, how they control retention and also how they benefit from economies of scale for EOI advertising campaigns. The second team was responsible for the successful workforce delivery of project based staff, shut-down/turnaround employees and frequent infrequent labour demands for breakdowns and down dayRecruitment Manager - Eastern OperationsAs the Recruitment Manager, I managed a team who was responsible for the successful workforce delivery of project based staff, shut-down/turnaround employees and frequent infrequent labour demands for breakdowns and down days. O&M fill between 2300 and 2500 placements annually and had an operating turnover of $1.1bn. O&M recruitment team East had 11 recruiters and 1 administrator.
