Reduced cost by streamlining production process.❖ Managed multiple micro-speakers from design to production, setting and meeting milestones to ensure process development, packaging, product test, and reliability tests were completed on time for MEMS devices and supporting ICs. ❖ Brought multiple products into production at wafer foundries and package/test vendors, serving as point of contact for the main wafer foundry. Influenced foundries and OSATs to provide enough capacity to support business forecast.❖ Led a team to design and build the first automated, high-speed micro-speaker final test system in the world. Installed and qualified multiple test systems at the vendor’s site.❖ Drove package development, collaborating with the design team to improve product robustness through packaging and assembly improvement. Leveraged proven technology and ran design of experiments to find the root cause of mechanical issues. ❖ Set up wafer and final test yield analysis capabilities, analyzing test data to determine product specifications and set optimal operating conditions. Created and executed supply chain strategy to ensure on-time delivery of all company products. Searched and evaluated supply chain partners and maintained relationships to bring the company’s ultrasound probes from prototypes to production.Key Achievements:❖ Assessed the company’s technology, size, and target market and then searched to find and evaluated multiple supply chain candidates to find the best-fit partners. Successfully built a supply chain, including a key wafer supplier, wafer foundry, and package house, cultivating and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure continued support for this small startup. Delivered multiple ultrasound probes to meet the company’s product launch schedules. ❖ Coauthored the company’s product and technology roadmaps. Developed process technologies, such as wafer to wafer bonding, required to support the technology roadmap.

Responsible for the process development and project management of the company’s next-generation flagship high-speed printhead for commercial printing. Identified the missing process technology for the fabrication of a two-dimensional printhead array. Evaluated and purchased required key equipment and developed processes, such as wafer level bonding, to successfully demonstrate its feasibility.

Responsible for setting up InvenSense's Taiwan operations and bringing the company’s new products into production at multiple wafer foundries. First hire in Taiwan and grew the MEMS operation. Key Achievements:❖ Brought the operation into the highly selective Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan. Wrote a business plan in Chinese for the park application, handled all financial and legal matters in the first year of operation, and set up a cleanroom for product testing. This operation eventually grew to a few hundred employees.❖ Managed multiple gyroscopes to qualify for production at two wafer foundries and a package house. Successfully ramped up to > 1M devices per month. Cultivated relationships with decision makers inside suppliers to ensure adequate production support.

Responsible for setting the marketing and sales strategy for the third-largest pure-play MEMS foundry in the world at that time. Advised CEO and chairman on go-to-market strategy for potential new markets.Key Achievements:❖ Increased customer base by leveraging the strategic alliance with UMC Group. Aggressively pursued promising startups and established sensor companies to grow the customer base.❖ Brought in a tier-one automotive customer, generating an estimated revenue of US$30M over the following 10 years. Led supplier contract negotiation and set device pricing for the company.❖ Secured a price increase from a key customer, resulting in an additional US$1M/year in revenue.

Key Achievements:❖ Delivered the world’s best-selling MEMS VOA devices from concept to working prototype in six weeks in a 2-person team. This product accounted for more than $15 million and >50% of company’s accumulative revenue from 2002 to 2006.❖ Designed and brought to production in a wafer foundry a second VOA based on a different design.

❖ Developed a wafer process flow and built company’s first MEMS micro-mirror devices in a university fab under a tight time and resource constraint. Delivered working devices resulting in a working 1x4 optical switch demo.

❖ Collaborated with a customer and a CMOS foundry to develop a CMOS-integrated inkjet print head array for a commercial-grade printer. Delivered samples for customer to successfully integrate into its printer.

❖ Developed process technology and improved yields for a piezoresistive MEMS accelerometer for automotive airbag application. Supervised two technicians.
