Manager - Acquisition Post Production Operations, Viacomcbs
CurrentPlate-spinner, chainsaw juggler, cat herder. It's all in a day's work helping to oversee getting acquired assets from Point A (Hollywood, Atlanta, New York or anyplace in between) to Point B (Nashville) as part of the Acquisitions team for Viacom-CBS, based in Nashville. The ViacomCBS networks purchase movies, series, specials and/or what-not...and it's our job to make sure the assets are delivered to Nashville correctly and on-time, before making sure they are then suitable for air on said networks. This second part deserves some attention because it means we need to do the S&P (Standards & Practices) work...otherwise known as "censoring." And let me tell you - that can lead to some pretty interesting conversations over cubicle walls: "So, it's okay to call someone a D**K, but they can't say, 'Man, did you see the size of his D**K,' right?" "Okay, got it. Thanks"It's fast-paced, often last-minute, and it requires a lot of multi-tasking, short-range and long-term planning. And relationships - knowing how to work with people from the networks to the legal teams to the distributors to the producers. And, it helps to have a background in video production to understand how it all works...what the time frames are likely going to be...and most importantly - how to talk calmly to folks when all Hades is breaking loose.
