I started as a Correctional Officer and was responsible for supervising inmates at their work sites, during recreation, and in their living areas. I was responsible for coordination of ordering and distribution of supplies for facilities, and ordering specialized equipment. In March 2000, I promoted to Correctional Sergeant and supervised Correctional Officers, ensured daily programming for inmates, and conducted safety and security audits within the prison and provided solutions for any safety and security issues. I conducted investigations into misconduct by inmates and employees. I developed a procedure for level four inmates that reduced lockdowns by 80% and significantly reduced violence among the inmates. I provided training to employees for job safety as well as other aspects of correctional training. In March 2006, I promoted to Correctional Lieutenant and managed daily facility operations, conducted administrative hearings for inmate misconduct. I reviewed policies and procedures and made necessary changes in keeping with the mission of the Department. In March 2007, I promoted to Special Agent where I conducted criminal and administrative investigations, prepared and served search warrants, and prepared criminal and administrative reports. I served on the Deadly Use of Force Team which investigates force used by peace officers within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, such as discharge of firearms or other lethal weapons. I would present the facts to the Shooting Review Board in Sacramento, CA.

Proud to be a veteran and to serve and defend the USA. My first station was in Camp Lejeune, NC with Romeo 5/10. I later transferred to B Company 7th Comm Battalion, MCAS, HI from 1988-1991. In August of 1990 after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq, I was sent out with HQ 7th Marines to serve with Task Force Ripper during the Gulf War. Task Force Ripper was the spearhead of the liberation of Kuwait. Along with other forces we breached mine fields, took Al Julbal Air Field and Kuwait International Airport. We took back Kuwait and drove the Iraq forces out of the country. There is nothing better than seeing the faces of the Kuwaiti people after the country was liberated. Semper Fi
