I am a corporate director and independent consultant, building on my more than 30 years’ mining industry experience in executive leadership, operations management, corporate strategic planning, projects and mine engineering. I have a reputation as a collaborative leader with strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to put issues in context of the big picture. My genuine interest in the ideas and contributions of others, coupled with strong listening skills and an open, honest approach consistently earn me the respect and trust of people at all levels. As a senior leader, I establish strong strategic direction consistent with the overall strategy of the organization, and set clear targets linked to corporate objectives and values. I combine a big picture strategic focus with a keen eye for detail to ensure underlying issues are well understood and activities are carried out to a high standard.I have excellent knowledge of the mining industry acquired through more than 30 years of experience in uranium, gold, nickel and copper/zinc mining, the last 15 years of which were at the vice-president level, in Canadian and international roles. My volunteer participation as President and other executive committee roles with the Saskatchewan Mining Association over 6 years provided me a strong perspective on the role of industry associations, public and government relations.Experienced working across various jurisdictions internationally including Canada, Russia, Kazakhstan, the US and Australia, I have demonstrated strong skills in regulatory, joint venture, cross-cultural, indigenous and community relations.In 2018, I concluded a great adventure leading the Kupol operations just north of the Arctic circle in the Chukotka region of far east Russia. Since then I am semi-retired, a corporate director and an independent consultant.
