A hands-on IT leader, I am just as comfortable leading a team as I am integrating systems. I combine over 20 years of practical IT experience and have worn many hats in my career. I am a good problem solver and a pragmatic decision maker. I have a proven track record of accomplishment while meeting aggressive goals and have been consistently reviewed highly. My career began managing banks of modems for a college-town ISP on a shoestring budget while I finished my degree in computer science. I spent several years as a technical consultant where I planned network migrations, desktop roll-outs and solved technical problems. I ultimately accepted a position with Comsat (one of my clients) as a network administrator. As I led their migration from Novell to Microsoft I began building a solid Microsoft foundation and expanding my knowledge base. In my spare time I began innovating where possible by automating user account management and desktop deployment. Deregulation of the US satcom industry became the beginning in a series of acquisitions for our group over the next 15 years. During that time my position continued to grow; to Senior Administrator to Manager of Applications to IT Director. For the past several years my focus has been on government compliance and IT security. My leadership philosophy is driven by my choice to surround myself with smart teammates who are responsible and are capable of taking independent action. I provide the direction, organization, mentor ship and the communication (and plenty of my own sweat) and together we accomplish our goals.
