Curriculum developer, teacher and coach introducing media arts skills into English Language Arts and English Language Development elementary and middle schools in San Francisco and Hayward. Inspire students to produce high quality writing, photography, films, podcasts and digital books while developing 21st Century skills and telling their personal stories. Improve student participation by offering culturally relevant, student-centered projects with real-world significance. Lead and participate in professional development training locally and nationally.

Director of rigorous Audio, Film and Photography WASC accredited degree programs. Oversight of more than 120 unique courses, 45 instructors and hundreds of students. Initiate community engagement through collaborations, internships and employment opportunities, and special events. Work closely with financial aid, student services, advising, admissions and technology departments. Create annual budget to support audio, photo and film studios, computer labs, software and gear.

Spearheaded community engagement campaigns and curriculum for award-winning documentary films including: the Academy-Award nominated "Regret to Inform;" "On Coal Mountain" about U.S. mountain top removal coal mining; "Taking Root: the Story of Wangari Maathai" a portrait of the Nobel prize winner and environmental activist, "When We Were Soldiers" the powerful portrait of four friends before, during and after the first US war in Iraq, Naomi Wolf’s prophetic "The End of America;" "Blessed Is the Match" about the legendary writer and WWII hero Hannah Senesh; "Scouts Honor" the dynamic portrayal of a young man who challenges the Boy Scouts anti-gay policies; and others.

Taught students of all levels, created new course curriculum, created rigorous community collaborations, coordinated film guests and special events, helped students produce award-winning projects, find employment and enter graduate programs. Student projects aired on PBS and received Student Academy Award nominations.
