Responsible for screening, designing and building scalable, impactful ventures that tackle some of the largest problems facing humanity. Through ARK we are delivering a unique triple bottom line: Making an impact through our ventures, delivering financial returns from exits, and donating 90% of ARK profits to reduce poverty.

Worked on venture ideation and design projects that tackled the issues of online disinformation and mental health of caregivers.

LiveHive built a “one stop shop” online video platform for independent coaches to run and manage their online / hybrid class businesses. We successfully raised SEIS seed funding and built out a 9-person team to launch our no-code pilot. Took decision to wind up business in late 2022 after failing to find product-market fit as pandemic induced behavioural changes unwound, and discretionary spend on online learning fell dramatically.

Key member of Executive Leadership Team, working in a wide ranging role that included delivery of consumer and retailer support to SLAs and KPIs; client onboarding and major project management; operational and regulatory responsibility for all payment services and banking operations; provision of internal and external MI and analytical services; fraud management and reporting; EPOS API integration process; and scoping internal engineering projectsKey achievements:• Delivered 66% efficiency improvement from UK based support team in 2019, and further 70% cost reduction through offshoring to new South Africa team during 2020 lockdown• As designated EMD Individual, worked with Compliance team to write and implement new client money safeguarding process that complied with enhanced FCA requirements for regulated E-Money Institutions, and was subsequently signed off by external auditors• Scoped, led and worked closely with engineers to deliver new payments service to enable integration with new payments partner and c. 80% cost reduction vs incumbent• Negotiated and delivered early stage partnership with Visa to explore further development of card driven, basket level data enhanced, loyalty proposition Yoyo Wallet makes mobile relevant for retail.

Independent consulting business, working individually and as part of larger teams to support clients to tackle significant business issues and evaluate new opportunitiesKey achievements:• Created 2 detailed and fundable business cases from 100+ ideas for UK celebrity chef licensing business through 8 weeks of opportunity screening, evaluation, elimination and refinement• Developed strategy and financial model for major UK logistics company to mitigate and replace expected loss of profit from upcoming regulatory changes to high margin business unit – final recommendations included operating model changes to reduce existing business costs & extend longevity, and detailed evaluation of alternative new market segments with significant revenue potential• Led a team to size the market, identify & quantify opportunities, and develop a high level roadmap for a major UK life insurer looking to re-enter the D2C investment and protection market. Project work helped client secure approval for significant investment in D2C opportunity

Developed core proposition for Yoyo Wallet by drawing on deep understanding of mobile and payments spaces to build a proposition that delivered payment and loyalty solution for consumers, retailers and brands. Led product development of Yoyo platform and app through Seed rounds 1 and 2, while also responsible for day to day operational managementKey achievements:• Worked with CTO and Designer to build customer journeys, specify requirements to development partner for platform and app functionality, and design critical EPOS Integration API for EPOS providers• Managed launch project, and achieved launch of beta service within 6 months of initial funding, then subsequently led migration to in-house development team• Recruited early team members across engineering, product and operations
