Hello there! Thanks for dropping in… I’m Dave, the Managing Director at Biode.So, what exactly is Biode? Well, Biode is Australia’s foremost biometric identity management company. Our forte lies in pioneering cutting-edge identity management solutions. We live and breathe this stuff. Our overarching vision is to lead the industry through innovative software that protects and manages people and physical assets in correctional centres and commercial enterprises across Australia. How did I end up here?Well, here is a snapshot of my journey…I kicked off my first business venture at the tender age of 12. It wasn’t an extensive enterprise. I simply tended to lawns in my neighbourhood. Equipped with a mower, an edger, and a burning desire to own a surfboard, I intuitively understood that satisfying my customers’ needs better than my competitors was the cornerstone of success. So, this ethos guided my efforts to work harder and faster as I devoted myself to delivering impeccable lawn care!Benefiting immensely in my early career through mentorship from entrepreneurs David Koch and Paul Clitheroe, I have accumulated over three decades of leadership experience in various industries, including digital security, IT&C, media & advertising, and software development.Over the years, I’ve amassed invaluable insights into the challenges faced by growing businesses, along with a unique skill set that transcends industries to encompass all facets of general management. Armed with a deep working knowledge of disciplines such as leadership, strategy, finance, product design, sales, marketing, customer service, and operations, I have an insatiable curiosity to understand the interrelated factors that lead to business success. I love tackling the intricate challenges that arise in the small business arena. In addition to earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), my approach is characterised by an engaging and collaborative style underpinned by uncompromising ethical principles. I strive to inspire organisational change by nurturing creativity and innovation. My role is that of a motivator and encourager who takes a genuine interest in the development of others. I believe that leadership is a privilege and a choice – not bestowed by title or entitlement. As the Managing Director of Biode, my mission is to help us do business better - 1% every day.
