We won multiple blue ribbons at the 2024 Franklin County Fair for best syrup, dark syrup, and maple cream. Watch out for the maple monster!

A very lucky professional amateur astronomer whose primary job is administration of the Night Sky Network program from NASA/JPL, supporting clubs that perform astronomy outreach in their communities across the USA. I write articles, newsletters, update resources, provide support and communications via email, phone, and social media, and ensure shipments of our many resources to astronomers across the country who participate in the NSN program.I also provide support to other programs at the Astronomical Society of the Pacific that work with amateur astronomers, such as the Eclipse Megamovie Project with Google and the Berkeley Space Sciences Labs. I also helped co-author a book (with Vivian White and Linda Shore) filled with fun tips and tricks for people looking to get into stargazing: The Complete Skywatcher's Manual from Weldon Owen Publishing. I occasionally write articles for our other publications, such as Mercury and Astronomy Beat.My favorite part of the job remains getting to meet and learn from fellow amateur astronomers across the country at star parties, conventions and other amazing astronomical events!

I recruited speakers for monthly talks for members of the Eastbay Astronomical Society and the general public, held at the always great Chabot Space and Science Center. I ran the monthly talks and made sure we had plenty of snacks and good times for everyone who came. I also set up the groups first social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook to help public use our talks as well as other events and interesting astronomy tidbits from our members.

I was an all-in-one IT and Operations guy. Worked on troubleshooting racing simulators, video games, servers, desktops, and various types of AV equipment. I helped to set up and run large events for both investors and the public at various high-intensity venues, including several featured locations at the Indy 500.

I worked on the Observatory deck assisting the public with their viewing experience, as well as assisting visitors with various exhibits inside the center. I trained to operate the large telescopes and domes, which was extremely fun!

Assisted with various IT infrastructure projects in a a rapidly growing startup environment, including a move from a cramped small office to a office tower! I worked on a wide variety of systems at every level in the company, including: server migrations, both to new hardware and virtual systems, assisted with code deployment, rolled out desktop images and hardware, email administration, emergency code troubleshooting, and more.

Responsible for the setup and maintenance of Windows and VMware systems . Provided support and documentation for Active Directory structure, remote user support, purchasing assistance, file server and remote desktop access, SOX/FDA auditing support, and various special projects on the Hercules, CA campus.

Provided desktop support and management for the company's workstations and laptops as well as assistance on special projects and servers.

Was a consultant for Forte Systems, a great little consulting firm founded by guys from Broderbund Software. Supported various clients around the Bay Area with various issues big and small, from setting up an office computer for a doctor's home office, to managing tax software for accountants, to troubleshooting network printers for architecture firms to server management for various other clients, to on-site hardware and software support for large deployment projects for companies - including and especially Bio-Rad Laboratories' Corporate and Clinical Diagnostics divisions.

Primary contact for support of computers campus wide. Assisted in development and implementation of rollout of faculty computer program. Responsible for deployment and support of new computers to computer lab. tested possible new software and hardware configurations. Assisted in rapid transition of campus to Windows 2000 Server network from mixed Windows NT/FreeBSD/Novell/VMS architecture. Responsible for training, development, and supervision of student aides. Assisted with server systems when needed. Travel to sister campus in Santa Fe to assist with cross-campus network integration project. Led security project after a combined physical and cybersecurity incident on campus which discovered several vulnerabilities and wrote up technical documentation, post-mortem diagnosis, and a followup remediation plan. Supported legacy phone system (Fujitsu).

Primary support person for the student lab on the New Mexico campus of St. John's College, along with some additional computer and special event support around campus. Kept the printer running during paper writing crunches, assisted student in printing and recovering files. Also performed semi-random support duties as needed for special college-wide events during crunch times.

General assistance with computers around campus. Staff, faculty, and especially student computers were all supported. Fixed broken computer hardware, removed viruses, retrieved papers from dodgy floppy and zip discs, network troubleshooting all the good stuff. Server support when desperately needed.
