Building off my involvement with CEP Vancouver's program - I wanted to bring this energy to Ottawa. The local CEP team was primed to run a program of their own and agreed to my pitch with myself as the lead. 2021 will be the inaugural year of the program with a small, pilot cohort for this year. Following years will receive more marketing and exposure to grow the program and the local sustainability scene in Ottawa.

Connecting and collaborating with a diverse client base I aided in their waste management procedures and strategies. At RA they focus on more than the 3 R's, they look further up the chain for solutions to impact all waste we touch and throw away.I directly managed over 30 accounts and used CRM tools to establish new relationships and business, I was able to go out into the community and do what I love doing while also creating an internal community with the team.I integrated new technology into RA's education sessions, aided in the design of their new website, found solutions for various waste items, continued to spread RA's story across their multiple social media channels, and created their first marketing video.

Wow! I can't believe my Community Leader Internship is over. As the environment and sustainability intern I helped bridge the gap between Vancity's internal and external sustainability teams. Internally:-Re-instated our staff bike share and created an online booking system to streamline the process-Crafted an electric vehicle information sheet making it easier for staff to educate themselves and to reduce Vancity's carbon and ecological footprint-Helped build an organizational Green Team-Strategic planning to move Vancity’s sustainability agenda forward with engaging experiences and events Externally:-Led the support for a project (The Green Bloc Neighbourhood) Vancity is a strategic partner of-Increased my digital capacity by creating digital systems maps, interactive presentations, and learning games-Researching and interacting with organizations to expand Vancity's network and knowledge in the environment and sustainability spaceAdditionally:-Co-led a team of 10 through a 4 month project creating a business model to positively impact the sharing economy The take away:✭Being apart of an organization that not only operates but focuses on their values has been and will continue to be inspirational.

Growing with debrand has allowed me to expand my skills especially ]in project management. The small company cliche holds true as my hat rack is empty in my promoted position. With this new responsibility I'm increased my management aptitude and learned how to be efficient economically and environmentally.I led the transition of our cloud platform to a SaaS, to streamline productivity and increase efficiency and connectedness between our warehouse and office staff.The take away:✭ I plan to keep improving on my management expertise and to grow my network of entrepreneurs seeking a circular economy world.

I began my journey at debrand seeking an opportunity in the sustainability field to build on my recycling experience within the textile sector. Starting in this entry role I was able to grasp the low-hanging fruit and the obstacles facing the textile recycling industry.Along the way I've:-Sorted various textile waste streams-Data entry via cloud service (ie. Google Drive)-Counterbalanced/Vertical Mast Forklift trained and certified-Creation of ReitenRight shredded natural rubber bags -ReitenRight is an equestrian footing additive company that is owned and operated by the same people/place as debrandThe take away:✭ Recycling programs alone won't solve our material waste outflow, striving for a closed loop system is the only outcome.
