I’m a transformational leader with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, change management, organizational restructuring, capital funding, new product development, rebranding, and e-commerce. I grew up in a family retail business where I learned business operations, people management, and democratic leadership. I began my career with JCPenney and later joined Sport’s Authority’s start-up team. Throughout my career, I advanced into product development, Asian sourcing, product and brand marketing, operations, and eventually CEO. I hold several US patents and have a deep understanding of overseas manufacturing and distribution. At Sports Authority I was instrumental in disrupting the “Mature” backyard category, by creating “Monster Games”. I was told that no D-1 College team would sign an exclusive football helmet deal, but within 90 days of conception, I signed an exclusive with Georgia, USC, and Penn State. Influenced by Winston Churchill and Jimmy Valvano I was inspired to never give up no matter the obstacles.I am passionate about making a difference in business and in the community. Throughout my career, I’ve served on several Boards of Directors and was an active volunteer for Johns Hopkins University's Traumatic Head Injury Research Project. Exposure to the challenges of running a family business and my ground-up business experience have laid the foundation for a successful career as a senior executive.
