I was part of the digital design team implementing innovative ASICs for mainly the telecomms electronics market, specialising in timing synchronisation and ultra clean clock generation. Other activities included heavy support for test engineering functions, ATPG, pattern generation and custom pattern generation/conversion tool programming.I also was involved with many demo and proof-of-concept projects for industry expos, tasks ranged from PCB design, embedded software and mechanical design.

I was responsible for full production hardware and software solution design, procurement, and support in production. Full custom hardware was designed for each ASIC (or family of ASICs) to interface with the target test system (in our case the Teradyne Flex) and a test program was written to exercise the device under test. Full cycle production test was achieved, with analysis to achieve optimal throughput and reliability whilst maximising test coverage using many techniques, such as ATPG, BIST, and functional tests. Flash memory application programming, with unique device IDs was also a feature of several products.Waferprobe hardware was also designed and procured if required by the product.

Support test and product engineering activities in the test and product engineering department. This role also included special test engineering activities (e.g. mixed signal and high speed digital testing) supporting ATE hardware, software, data analysis systems and improvement activities.

Systems engineer for digital broadcast systems. Performing evaluation, porting and demo software systems on digital television system prototypes. Mostly involved coding applications for embedded RTOS and Linux/embedded.
