Employed as Trainee Estimating and Planning Engineer for 2 years, subsequently leading to Section Leader in the special gear box division for 5 years.Attended Thurrock College for 3 years (part-time release) to study Work Measurement, Work Study and Incentives.Used practical skills to instigate costing synthetics, which are still in use today.

Attended Hackney Technical College for 6 years on a day release and evening basis.Had involvement with the first plug board Automatics attending courses on their setting maintenance and procedures.Completed apprenticeship in machine shop, appointed charge hand upon completion.
